Be respectful at all times – to me and to your classmates.
- Do not talk while I am talking
- Do not talk while you are supposed to be singing
- Follow directions the first time I ask
- Raise your hand if you have a question. If I am in the middle of teaching, I might not get to you right away, but I will call on you at an appropriate time, please be patient.
- Be quiet and listen when your classmates are singing.
- Treat others like you would want to be treated - or better!!Participate to the best of your ability EVERY DAY!!
- Sing when I ask you to sing.
- Try new things when I ask - some of those things might push your comfort zone or feel strange, but that is how we learn and grow!! It's OK to make mistakes as long as you are giving your best effort.
- Singing should be fun, but also stay focused.
ALWAYS grab your choir folder on the way to your chair.
Gum is NOT allowed.
ONLY WATER in your WATER BOTTLES!!
- You may use the water fountain in my classroom under the following guidelines.
1) Only 1 person at the water fountain at a time
2) Only get a drink if we are between songs or if your section is not currently being asked to sing.
3) You are limited to 1 drink from the fountain per class period. If you need more, then bring a water bottle.
9-12 - Cell phones belong in your folder slot or in your locker.
7-8 - Cell phones and smart watches are not allowed.

C) If I catch you with your cell phone at your seat:
a) Your phone will be on the piano until the end of class.
b) If I take your phone multiple times, it will stay with me until the end
of the day
c) If your phone becomes a chronic issue, I will bring it to the office and
office protocols will be followed.

Classroom Routines
Starting the class period |
Put personal belongings in on the table or the floor. Grab your folder from the slot. Be seated in your assigned seat. Sharpen pencils and gather necessary materials for class. Be seated and ready to start class at the first bell. |
Entering the classroom |
Enter the room quietly. Use conversational or “inside voice”. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Walk. Move directly to your desk or assigned area. Sit quietly and be ready for class. |
Working together |
Be willing to listen to others. Be respectful of your classmates’ efforts. Work together without talking. Raise hand to ask for help. Wait quietly while the teacher is working with another group or section. Move quietly around the room when necessary. Get a drink or ask to use the bathroom between songs or while teacher is working with another group or section. Put folders away when finished with class for the day. |
Asking for help |
Always try by yourself first. Raise your hand. Keep working if you can or wait quietly. Remember the teacher has other students that may also need help. |
Completing and returning homework |
Bring homework home and complete. Return to class with completed assignments. Turn in assignments either through Schoology or homework basket. |
