Speech-Language Pathologist 1.0 FTE - Blooming Prairie Public Schools

Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2025-2026 school year. This position provides an opportunity to work with students with various disabilities across grade levels. Successful candidates must hold a master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited university, ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship (CF), and a Minnesota PELSB-issued teaching license. Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with administration, staff, and families.

ISD #756 is a small rural school district in SE Minnesota. We serve approximately 900 students PreK–12. We have seen a gradual increase in the student population over the past several years and recently completed a building project. We added additional classroom space to accommodate our growth along with an auditorium, gym space, flex spacing, and art classrooms, renovating our Ag/Industrial Tech spaces, and completing several long-term facility maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations, interpreting results, and determining if students meet initial entrance or continuing criteria under any Minnesota state Speech or Language Impairment category.
  2. Developing and implementing annual Individual Education Program (IEP) plans for students to include present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.
  3. Provides research-based specialized communication instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives within each student’s IEP plan.
  4. Serves as the primary contact for the parent(s), classroom teacher, and other support staff.
  5. Effectively and appropriately work with parents, students, staff, and other educational professionals regarding the student and district's instructional needs, concerns, or challenges.
  6. Maintain, document, and update due process records per federal and state laws, rules, and/or regulations.
  7. Provides consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plans, and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with IEPs.
  8. Enhance treatment, methodology, interventions, and best speech and language practices via continuing education and professional development activities.

Compensation: $53,120-$80,579 annual salary, determined by licensure and experience

Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) 1.0 FTE - Blooming Prairie Public Schools

Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2025-2026 school year. This position provides an opportunity to work with students with various disabilities across grade levels. The successful candidate must hold an associate degree from a speech-language pathology assistant program that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges or its equivalent as approved by the commissioner or a bachelor's degree in the discipline of communication sciences or disorders with additional transcript credit in instruction in assistant-level service delivery practices and completion of at least 100 hours of supervised fieldwork experience as a speech-language pathology assistant. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with administration, staff, and families.

Responsibilities:

1. Carrying out speech therapy treatment plans as directed by the SLP.
2. Assisting the SLP with scheduling (screenings, therapy, meetings, evaluations, etc.)
3. Completing clerical tasks such as printing, filing, creating materials, laminating, etc.
4. Scribing and assisting the SLP during screenings, evaluations, and MA billing
5. Collecting language samples for analysis
6. Preplanning IEP meetings (creating agenda, printing due process, etc.)
7. Writing progress notes and reports
8. Using SpEd Forms to assist the SLP in documenting student progress.

Salary Range: $25 - $30 an hour

This position provides an opportunity to work with students from 5th to 12th grade with various disabilities. The successful candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in education with a focus on a special education specialty area(s) and/or Academic and Behavior Specialist (ABS) and a Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) issued special education teaching license. The candidate must also have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with administration, staff, and families.

Business Education/CTE Teacher (7th-12th) - .6 FTE

Position Overview: Blooming Prairie High School is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to support the vision and mission of Blooming Prairie Public Schools by planning, preparing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating a quality competency-based Business and Technology Program leading to the development of students’ skills sufficient for post-secondary education, or qualify for entry-level employment through the use of effective instructions for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter through effective teaching practices, with expectations of high student achievement.
  • Assess student progress, modify instruction, and improve student learning.
