It is important that the choir looks uniform for concerts, therefore I am setting up these guidelines for concerts. If there is a serious issue with obtaining any of these items, please talk to me privately before or after class before the concert and not after. A concert is a formal event and the clothing that you wear should also be formal in nature.
WHEN ROBED:
**ALL: Black skirt or black pants with black socks. Black close-toed shoes. A plain T-shirt under your robe.
NOT ROBED:
When the students don’t wear robes, we will discuss what is appropriate for a concert situation. Women, plan on wearing a skirt and men plan for either a sweater or a shirt and tie with dress pants depending on what the choir decides.
ALWAYS:
-PLEASE DO NOT USE STRONG SCENTED BODY SPRAYS or PERFUMES. Some people have allergic reactions to sprays such as these and in a concert situation, this can cause serious problems with breathing to sing.
-Keep your jewelry simple. You are a part of an ensemble performing together. This is not an opportunity to stand out individually.
-NO CELL PHONES OR BEEPING WATCHES – silence them during a performance.
