Long-Term Substitute Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional
Position Overview: Blooming Prairie Public Schools is accepting applications for a long-term substitute special education paraprofessional at the elementary school. This position would start at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year and continue for approximately 12 weeks and provide an opportunity to work with students in grades Pre-K-4Â with various disabilities.
Responsibilities: Paraprofessionals work with individual students or small groups of students to support the learning of material or skills initially introduced by the supervising special education teacher, assist in student supervision as determined by the special education teacher, assist in de-escalating challenging behavior displayed by students, maintain the confidentiality of private student data, assist with data collection used to bill Medical Assistance (MA) for allowable special education services and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, eating, toileting, mobility, transfers, and grooming.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold an AA degree or be willing to pursue the State Competencies (ParaPro Test), Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) certification, and the ability to willingly accept and follow directives.
Compensation: $16.41-$21.42 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
